  • What is Coliving?
Coliving is a modern housing concept where individuals share living spaces and amenities while pursuing their personal and professional endeavors. It fosters a vibrant community of like-minded individuals, offering not just a place to stay, but also opportunities for collaboration, networking, and cultural exchange. In a coliving space like NomadUnion, residents enjoy the benefits of shared spaces, such as kitchens, lounges, and work areas, creating a dynamic environment conducive to both productivity and social interaction. Additionally, residents often travel together and explore the surrounding area, enriching their experiences and forming lasting bonds with fellow nomads.
  • Is it like a hostel?
No, NomadUnion is not a hostel. While hostels typically cater to short-term stays and larger groups of travelers, NomadUnion offers a different experience. With a minimum stay of one month, our "Villa Coliving" concept creates a smaller, more intimate community of usually 6-8 people. Our villa provides a higher standard of accommodation compared to traditional hostels, with comfortable and well-appointed living spaces designed to feel like a home away from home. Additionally, NomadUnion is specifically tailored for remote workers, with amenities and facilities designed to meet the unique needs of remote professionals, such as high-speed internet, dedicated workspaces, and a quiet environment conducive to productivity. So while we share the spirit of community and camaraderie found in hostels, NomadUnion offers a more exclusive and personalized experience tailored for longer-term stays and a more discerning clientele of remote workers.
  • What are the Curated Coliving Retreat Months?
Curated Coliving Retreat Months are specially themed stays at NomadUnion designed for specific groups, such as digital nomads aged 40+, couples, or professionals seeking focused networking. These retreats include tailored activities, group excursions, and shared experiences, fostering a sense of community while exploring the beauty of the Côte d'Azur. Each retreat offers a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals in our cozy villa.
  • What is the difference between the normal Coliving and the retreats?
Our normal Coliving experience is perfect for independent digital nomads looking for a productive and vibrant community to connect with. It’s a more flexible and budget-friendly option, with activities that are less structured and more community-driven. Guests often organize shared dinners, trips, or outings together, creating an organic and relaxed atmosphere where productivity, meaningful connections, and exploring the beautiful Côte d’Azur go hand in hand. The retreats, on the other hand, are curated month-long experiences with a specific theme or focus. They include carefully planned group activities, usually transportation for excursions, and sometimes shared costs for things like community dinners. Retreats require more planning and coordination, so they’re slightly more expensive but provide a more structured and immersive experience, ideal for those looking to dive deeper into the area and connect with like-minded peers.

  • Do I need a car or is there public transportation? How to get around?
Generally, you don't need a car to get around. NomadUnion Apartment (Nice City Center): No car needed! 🚶‍♂️ Our apartment is located in the vibrant heart of Nice, with everything — beaches, shops, cafés, coworking spaces, and restaurants — just a short walk away. You probably won’t even need a city transportation ticket. Public tram and bus stops are close by if you ever want to venture further. Parking in the city center is very limited and expensive, so we highly recommend exploring by foot, bike, or tram instead. NomadUnion Villa (Biot): For everyday life at the villa, a car is not necessary. 🚌 We’re connected to Antibes via a direct local bus, and from there, trains and buses can take you easily to Nice, Cannes, Monaco, and beyond. Also we have bikes on the property that can be used to go to the grocery store or into Antibes city center. For weekend adventures, we often rent a car together to explore beaches, mountain villages, or hidden gems along the coast. 🚗 If you prefer more flexibility during your stay, we offer private parking directly on the property. However, keep in mind that during summer months and rush hours, traffic around the French Riviera can get very busy. If you don’t want to drive, ride-sharing apps like Uber and Bolt are a convenient option, especially for getting to and from the airport or nearby towns. For more detailed information on public transport and tips for getting around, make sure to check out our How to get around guide

Some drivers might prefer the Kiss & Fly (Dépose minute) upstairs — simply use the parking lot stairs and cross the passenger bridge if needed. Public Transportation: You can also take Tram Line 2 directly from the Airport (Terminal 2) to Durandy Station, which is just a 2-minute walk to the apartment. The tram ride takes about 30 minutes and costs only 1,70€. Tickets can be bought at the tram stop or via the Lignes d’Azur app. ➔ Important: Validate your ticket when you enter the tram. Public Transportation: Bus 620 or Train to Gare Biot: Take Bus 620 (toward Cannes) or the Train from Nice Saint Augustin Station to Gare Biot. Tram rides between Airport Terminals and Nice Saint Augustin Station are free. Trains are usually faster and more reliable, especially during busy hours. • How do I do groceries? Are there shops nearby?
Nice City Apartment: Our apartment in Nice is right in the heart of the city, so groceries are super convenient: Intermarché: Just next to the Nice Étoile shopping center — great for full shopping trips. Carrefour City: Another smaller supermarket close by, perfect for quick pickups. Monoprix: Located on Avenue Jean Médecin — slightly more upscale, with groceries, clothes, and household items. Organic Stores: Several organic and health food shops are also within walking distance if you prefer bio/organic options. Walking Distance: All grocery options are reachable within a few minutes by foot — no car or public transport needed! Villa (Biot Location): Local Supermarket: A small supermarket is just a 7-minute walk away. It's ideal for quick shopping, although it’s a bit pricier, so we usually use it for smaller purchases. Larger Grocery Stores: Bigger supermarkets are located down by the coast, accessible within ~10 minutes by bicycle or bus. With a bit of planning, it's an easy way to stock up. Weekly Online Orders: We organize a weekly group grocery order — everyone adds their shopping list to a shared Google Sheet, and we split delivery costs. Car Rides & Day Trips: Sometimes colivers with cars offer rides to big supermarkets. When we rent cars for weekend trips, we often stop for groceries too. Food Delivery: Uber Eats also delivers groceries in the area if needed. Plus, there’s a wonderful bakery just a 3-minute walk away where you can grab fresh baguettes, croissants, and quick lunch snacks!
  • Do you have Parking Places?
Nice City Apartment: Parking in the city center is very difficult and not recommended. Public street parking is extremely limited and often expensive. We strongly advise against bringing a car if you're staying at the apartment — everything you need is within walking distance. Public transport and ride-sharing are much easier and more practical options for getting around Nice. If you are planning to arrive by car, we highly recommend considering a stay at our Villa instead. The villa location is perfectly situated between Nice and Cannes and offers private, secure parking spaces for guests. Villa (Biot Location): Yes, there’s plenty of free parking available directly on the property! We can fit 4 to 7 cars inside the secure, gated villa property. Ideal if you decide to rent a car for more flexibility during your stay. Please note that during summer months and rush hours, traffic in the area can get quite busy, so we recommend allowing extra travel time.
