The French Riviera has far more range than people expect, sea, hills, and proper mountain terrain, all within reach. Some of the most rewarding hikes in the area:

 

🌊 Cap Ferrat, Cap d'Antibes, Cap d'Ail and the rest coastal paths, easy walking with sweeping Mediterranean views
🔴 The Esterel Massif, red rock trails right along the coast
🏞️ Gorges du Loup and the Vesubie valley, deeper hinterland and gorge/valley scenery
🗻 Saint Jeannet's Baou, a striking rock plateau with panoramic views back to the sea
🏘️ The perched villages, Eze, Gourdon, Saint Paul de Vence, connected by trail routes

🌲 Mont Chauve and Mont Vinaigre, forested peaks just behind Nice and Cannes with sweeping panoramas

⛰️ The Mercantour foothills, Saint Martin Vesubie and Roubion, for those chasing a proper mountain day

And for the days we want a bit more adrenaline, via ferrata routes at every level:

🪜 Roubion, an easy introduction, ladders, a short cave section, and a rope bridge over the Tinee valley
🌉 Lantosque, a longer route above the Vesubie river with a dramatic Himalayan footbridge
⚡ Puget-Théniers, big vertical slabs and a zip line finish along the Var river
🧗 La Brigue, the most demanding route in the area, eight rope bridges and a proper adrenaline hit for experienced climbers
